We invite AMHCA members and health care professionals to present their
expertise at the only
conference devoted entirely to the mental health counseling profession!
AMHCA's
2009 conference will take place July 23-25
at the Washington
Court Hotel on Capitol Hill in Washington,
DC. Be sure to stop by www.AMHCA.org
as conference registration information becomes available.
Take this opportunity to become involved and share your work with your
colleagues. Programs will be approved by the National Board for Certified
Counselors for continuing education credits.

Types of Programs
We are accepting applications for three types of programs:
- one-hour or two-hour programs
- half-day
(four hour) sessions
- poster
sessions
Proposals
addressing the conference theme, Connection, Healing and Wholeness:
Strengthening Individuals, Families & Communities through Mental
Health Counseling & Advocacy, will be strongly considered. All proposals will be
reviewed by the AMHCA Program Committee, chaired by President-Elect Linda
Barclay, PhD, LPCC/S, NCC, LICDC. AMHCA will acknowledge receipt of each
proposal application within two weeks of submission.

Benefits of Presenting
Our conference presenters include mental health counselors, other mental
health professionals, and professional speakers who share their expertise and
research results for the good of the community. Our conference also invites
poster presentations and student presentations.

- Program proposals must be postmarked by Monday, December 15,
2008.
- All
successful applicants will be notified by March 16, 2009.
